Sephardi Jews Spanish passport claims to be fast-tracked

The Spanish government has said it will automatically give citizenship to Sephardi Jews who can prove their ancestry with an official written document, speeding up a process which currently involves them needing to live in the country for two years.

Jewish groups in Spain welcomed the decision, although noted that a decree from the government wasn’t needed, as many of the Jews in question had a historical right to citizenship.
